Our Story

After 9 years of combined creative and strategic posts in Chicago and San Francisco, former college roommates Mark Schafer and Tim Condon got together and, of course, talked about the advertising industry. They talked about what was right, what was wrong and how they could do it better. And so in the Spring of 1989, with no money, no clients and the U.S. in a recession, they set out to reinvent the advertising business. Their concept was simple: Challenge the status quo and take all your energy and talent and throw it against your clients' businesses. Their success will result in the agency's success. And so the agency that “thinks again” was launched.

20 years later, and now with 65 people, multiple integrated operating units and a blue-chip roster of top brands, we're proud to say that Schafer Condon Carter still has the same aggressive, scrappy, entrepreneurial spirit and moxie that it was launched with.
