CHICAGO, Illinois (December 6, 2011) –Last year Chicago-based independent advertising agency Schafer|Condon|Carter established a new Holiday tradition. Instead of spending thousands on jackets or fleece sweatshirts for client gifts, they decided to donate not just the money, but their time, energy and singing voices as well–and “Carols for KidsSM” was born. On a cold and windy December day, the agency’s 50 employees took to the streets to carol and cajole passersby, complete with a Santa and Elves to raise money. Their trek on Chicago Trolley buses through the Chicago Loop culminated in front of the WGN Radio Showcase Studio on Michigan Avenue. All in, they raised nearly $10,000 from pedestrians, clients and listeners.

This year, on Thursday, December 15th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the agency’s employees, as well as clients and friends will again carol their way through Chicago’s Loop to Michigan Avenue’s Pioneer Court, where they have worked out a partnership for a live event and radio broadcast on WGN Radio to benefit the McCormick Foundation via the WGN Neediest Kids Fund.

The broadcast on WGN will include carols and entertainment from Chicago Blackhawks national anthem singer Jim Cornelison and forward Daniel Carcillo, the Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus, WGN Radio’s Orion Samuelson and more. Donations to the Neediest Kids Fund will be accepted on- site during the event and online at www.SCCCarolsForKids.org.

“We’re excited to take this event to the next level this year and raise a significant amount of money for children’s charities,” said Schafer|Condon|Carter CEO, Tim Condon. “In this time of need for so many families, we believe this is truly in the Holiday spirit. Our entire staff, as well as our clients and partners support us in our efforts, and we hope to have many of them joining us on Michigan Avenue for the event.”

Chicago, IL (October 24, 2011) – Schafer Condon Carter, one of Chicago’s leading independent mid-sized advertising agencies, recently launched SM360, a proprietary tool that helps translate consumer social media activity into marketing insights that can inform a brand’s integrated communication and creative strategies.

SCC’s process begins with a complete assessment of all social media content related to a brand–from blogs, videos, forums, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Flickr, Google, LinkedIn, fan pages, public discussion groups, and mainstream news sites. Through a variety of proprietary tools, the team then interprets the data and determines implications for communications strategies across a full set of marketing disciplines.

“Marketers are spending a great deal of time and money to monitor consumer conversations about their brands and their competitors,” says Erika Bye, SCC| Digital’s Director of Digital Media. “The real challenge is figuring out what to do with the data. SM360 delivers insights that help marketers develop and prioritize actions to augment their marketing programs.”

For marketers looking to establish an initial benchmark against which ongoing monitoring can be compared, SM360 allows them to keep abreast of current important issues as they trend in real time. Marketers can also use SM360 to conduct a spot analysis as to whether an observed issue is a one-time occurrence or something that requires action more broadly.

“SCC, with its fully-integrated offering of marketing services is uniquely positioned to provide marketers with valuable guidance and action steps for what to do and when to do it across all marketing disciplines,” added Bye.
